The years 2020 and 2021 have been extremely stressful and demanding consequent to the global COVID-19 pandemic which has brought about major changes in our lives. Words like isolation, testing, vaccines, and masking, which have been standard practices for doctors have become part of common vocabulary. Clinicians have been on the frontline of dealing with this global health hazard. With successes come losses, and our community has been a witness to the unfortunate passing of many of our colleagues. We pay homage to the fallen heroes. The last couple of years have also been marked by the inability to host conferences and other traditional forms of academic activity, but has seen the exploding popularity of electronic meetings over a variety of platforms. Although the overriding advantage of this has been the ability to listen to and interact with leaders in the specialty all over the world, it has also deprived us of the much-needed direct interaction with our colleagues.
