The field of neurosciences is rapidly developing. Given the volume of scientific literature being continually generated, it is almost impossible for the practicing clinician to stay abreast of all developments. It is, however, necessary to be informed of advances and current clinical practices to be able to deliver the best possible care to our patients. Continuing medical education courses help bridge this gap and are necessary for professional advancement. In this edition of Progress in Clinical Neurosciences, we have brought together a wide range of topics that are likely to be relevant to the clinician. Our predecessors have set high standards, which we hope to match. The opening section covers an in-depth discussion on artificial intelligence in neurosciences, an update on Cushing’s disease, a debate on the learning curve and its implications on training, autonomic disorders in the neurosurgical critical care unit, and an update on the role of bypass surgery in ischemic cerebrovascular disease. In the next section, the debate on the management of giant intracranial aneurysms is discussed, with contributions from a neurosurgeon and an endovascular therapist. The oncology section covers the management of recurrent high-grade gliomas and craniopharyngiomas.
